To date, only devices from the expensive flagship series are equipped with a fingerprint scanner built into the screen. Such gadgets cost from $ 500 and up, and therefore "not affordable" to everyone. But things can change literally in a matter of months.
The fact is that the well-known Chinese company BOE declared its readiness for the industrial production of LCD panels with an integrated fingerprint scanner. Considering that LCD-screens are much cheaper than OLED-matrices, there is a high probability that in the near future, inexpensive smartphones will massively switch to LCD-screens with a built-in fingerprint sensor.
The technology was recently introduced at an exhibition in Shanghai and received many forest reviews. Approximate start of serial production - December 2019.
